As the old saying goes, two heads are better than one right? This idea can be applied to joining a Real Estate Mastermind group. It seems to me that so many Real Estate Agents worry about joining a Mastermind group with their competitors because they will somehow lose out on business. I think the exact opposite is true. I think Masterminds provide a unique opportunity for growth for Real Estate Agents and the opportunity to earn even more business just by participating.
Here are 5 reasons why I think Mastermind Groups work in real estate:
1. Generate More Ideas
Two heads are better than one and imagine the ideas you could generate if you had 5-8 heads working together in the same group, in the same industry. You can generate ideas for new lead generation, unique marketing ideas and inspiration for the next email newsletter you are sending out. It is amazing when you see these groups in action and one small idea spawns more and more great ideas.
2. Sounding Board
Have a difficult client? A listing that just will not sell? Bring your issues to your Mastermind to seek their advice. No it’s not a big group therapy session, but you are surrounded by your colleagues that can help you solve these issues. More than likely there are Agents in your group that have had a similar issue and can provide you with ideas for a solution. At the very least they can sympathize with you and truly understand when an issue arises in your business.
There are Mastermind groups out there that exist to help hold each other accountable to their goals. This is a great opportunity to share your goals, even something as small as weekly goals with other Real Estate Agents, knowing full well that you will need to come back next week and report how you did. It’s a great way to keep you on track and keep your business moving in the right direction.
If you join the right Mastermind group you will benefit from others that have the same or even more real estate experience than you. This is great! You can learn from people that have been in the trenches longer and have a thing or two to offer.
Also, we all have different experiences when it comes to life and real estate and you can learn from others’ experiences as well. It may change the way you run a certain aspect of your business or prepare you on how to deal with certain prospects. You of course bring your own unique experience which others will benefit from. It is a win-win for everyone!
5. Sharpen Your Skills
By being a part of a Mastermind group you can’t just sit back and coast in your real estate business. A Mastermind group will keep you on your toes, challenge you and push you to learn more. This is great for sharpening your real estate skills and making you a better Real Estate Agent!
A great Real Estate Mastermind group should be seen as a team that can enhance your real estate skills and knowledge and not as a competition among colleagues. The more you help people, the more you will receive in your own real estate business. It is truly a win-win for everyone!
